Payment Plan Pre-Approval
Unlock your educational potential with an EdAid payment plan. Say goodbye to upfront costs and hello to financial flexibility. Worried about your eligibility? Don't be. With our new quick pre-approval check, you can discover in seconds if you might qualify for a zero-percent interest payment plan.
No more uncertainty, just clarity.
The form below will take just a couple of minutes to fill out. Once you've completed the questionnaire, you will find out instantly if you could be eligible for an interest-free extended payment plan with EdAid*.
*Please note that the pre-approval check does not constitute an offer of a payment plan. It is solely for illustrative purposes. To gain approval for a payment plan, you must complete a full application with EdAid. You will only be invited to complete an application for funding once your education provider has confirmed with us that you have been accepted onto your chosen program.
The pre-approval check does not constitute an offer of credit and relies on the accuracy of the answers you provide to deliver a response.
EdAid does not assess your suitability or eligibility for the academic requirements of your chosen education provider, and we are unable to make applications on your behalf. Education providers reserve the right to withdraw funding options at their discretion, and EdAid bears no responsibility for guaranteeing the availability of funding options for your program.
Completing this questionnaire will not affect your credit score. However, as part of the full application, you will undergo a credit check. EdAid's verification process also includes identity verification, checks to ensure there is no history of fraud or money laundering, and periodic income checks after graduation.

How do I know if I am eligible for a payment plan?
-
EdAid will determine eligibility, based on fair lending standards and a comprehensive risk assessment that includes checks of your identity, financial history, and the affordability of the plan. You can use EdAid's pre-approval tool to assess your likelihood of qualifying for a payment plan. If you are still unsure, please talk to us about your individual circumstances and we will guide you through making an application.
What is the pre-approval check?
-
The pre-approval check is a quick assessment tool provided by EdAid to help students determine if they might qualify for a payment plan. In return for providing basic information about yourself, your education plans, financial situation, and credit score, EdAid will provide you with one of two responses - very likely to be approved and not likely to be approved.
Will you run a credit check as part of the pre-approval check?
-
No, the pre-approval check does not involve a credit check. It relies on the information you provide to assess your potential eligibility for a payment plan. However, if you proceed to complete a full application, a credit check will be conducted as part of the application process.
What information will I need for the pre-approval?
-
You will need to provide basic personal information such as your name, email address, country of study, education provider, course of interest, residency status, employment status, income, expenses, and credit score.
Will schools accept this check as evidence of affordability?
-
While the pre-approval check can give you an indication of your potential eligibility for a payment plan, it will not be accepted by schools as evidence of affordability. You will need to complete a full application with EdAid where we assess affordability based on criteria provided by your chosen education provider. These may well vary and so we encourage you to make a funding application even if your personal circumstances mean you may not qualify for every funding option.
How does my residency status affect my eligibility?
-
Residency requirements vary by the country you are applying from. If you are unsure, please reach out to our team and we would be happy to assist you.
How does my credit score impact my eligibility?
-
Your credit score is one of the factors we consider, but having a low credit score does not necessarily disqualify you from a payment plan. We take a holistic approach to affordability and encourage you to contact our team if you believe there are specific circumstances we should take into consideration.
Will I definitely get access to a payment plan?
-
EdAid offers a variety of funding options and most students could be eligible for a Pay-As-You-Study-Plan (PAYS) even if they are not eligible for our extended plans, should your chosen education provider offer this type of plan. The pre-approval check provides an indication of your potential eligibility for a payment plan based on the information you provide. However, actual approval for a payment plan is subject to a full affordability assessment during the full application process. Receiving a response that you are likely to be eligible does not guarantee access to a payment plan.
What is a Pay-As-You-Study-Plan (PAYS)?
-
PAYS is our simplest payment plan, offering students the opportunity to spread the cost of tuition across equal payments during the period of study with zero interest and zero fees. In most cases, all you need to be eligible is to be accepted onto a program that offers the plan and be over 18 at the time of making your first payment.
What happens if I provide the wrong details in my pre-approval check?
-
That’s ok. You will be asked to provide further information with supporting documentation when you make a full funding application.
How do I find out my credit score?
-
You can check your credit score online through various methods depending on where you live.
USA:
-
Major credit reporting agencies like Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian offer access to your credit score online.
-
Services like Credit Karma and Credit Sesame allow you to check your score for free once you create an account.
-
Some banks and credit card companies provide free access to your credit score through their online portals.
Canada:
-
Credit reporting agencies Equifax and TransUnion provide online access to your credit score.
-
Free credit score services like Credit Karma and Borrowell let you check your score after signing up.
-
Many banks and financial institutions offer free credit score monitoring through online banking.
UK:
-
You can check your credit score through credit reference agencies like Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. They offer free or paid versions of your credit report and score.
-
Free services like ClearScore (linked to Equifax) and Credit Karma UK (linked to TransUnion) provide ongoing access to your credit score.
-
Do I have to pay to check my credit score?
-
Many services offer free access to your credit score, but some agencies may charge for detailed reports or ongoing credit monitoring services. Always check the terms before signing up.
Will my personal information be secure when I provide it for the pre-approval?
-
Yes, EdAid takes data privacy seriously. Your information is securely stored and will only be used for the purpose of providing an illustrative check for eligibility for a payment plan. Any financial information provided will not be taken into account when making a full funding application.
What if my education provider is not listed in the options provided?
-
EdAid is only able to offer payment plans for education providers with which we have an active partnership agreement. If your education provider is not listed, you can add them by providing their website URL. We will then contact them to explore the possibility of supporting EdAid payment plans. However, this is by no means a guarantee that you will be able to take up an EdAid payment plan with this education provider.

What’s happens next?
While the pre-approval check can give you an indication of your potential eligibility for a payment plan, you will need to complete a full application with EdAid to have your affordability assessed based on pre-determined criteria set by your chosen education provider before a full offer is made. These criteria may vary, and you’ll receive a formal offer of funding only once the application has been submitted and identity and affordability checks successfully completed. Reach out to your admissions team, or chat with us to find out more.
We could not determine your eligibility.
Based on the information you have provided we are not able to determine whether you would be approved for an extended payment plan, however you may still be eligible for other financing options.
We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about the result you received using the chat bubble. Remember the pre-approval check does not constitute an acceptance or denial of credit and we would still encourage you to apply subject to availability of payment plans for your chosen education provider.
Why did I get this result?
There are some instances where we cannot determine your eligibility. Reasons might include:
- Insufficient or unreadable information was provided in your submission.
- The education provider you chose does not offer payment plans with EdAid.
While the pre-approval check can give you an indication of your potential eligibility for a payment plan, it does not mean you will not be successful should you continue to create a funding application. Please note that EdAid payment plans are offered through partner schools. If your first-choice education provider does not offer payment plans please get in contact with us and we can help you explore your options.
You are not likely to be approved for a deferred plan.
Based on the information you have provided it is unlikely that you will be approved for an extended payment plan. However, all students, no matter their financial circumstances can apply for a Pay as You Study plan should your chosen school offer it (see our FAQs for more information) which helps you to spread the cost of tuition over the length of your program.
Why did I get this result?
Depending on where you are applying from you may not have been pre-approved due to any of the following reasons:
- Not meeting residency requirements of the country you are applying from.
- Employment status.
- Credit score.
- Monthly income below the threshold.
- Significant outstanding debt.
